Meet Octo

Meet Octo, our one-eyed octopus and the heart of our brand! The internet is vast and ever-growing, with new websites, ideas, and opportunities surfacing every single day. Sometimes, we feel just like Octo—an octopus with its tentacles stretched across the web, constantly exploring and seeking out the next big discovery. Octo’s one eye never closes, symbolizing our relentless curiosity and determination to uncover amazing things in the digital world. But Octo isn’t just a fun mascot; it’s a reflection of who we are. Just like Octo, we’re adaptable, resourceful, and always ready to dive deeper into the unknown to bring something extraordinary to the surface.

Meet Our Founder

Hey there! Welcome to FavoriteWeb—I’m JD, the founder and creator of this little corner of the internet. Let me take you on a quick journey through my story. Back in 2009, when the LA tech scene was just starting to heat up, I launched Schmoozd to bring like-minded innovators together. Not long after, I teamed up with Howard Marks (yep, the co-founder of ACTIVISION) to launch StartEngine, one of LA’s first startup accelerators.

As Managing Director, I had the thrill of working with nearly 50 startups, helping them secure funding, scale up, and find their footing. Along the way, I got to be part of some incredible success stories, like ZipRecruiter (Ian Siegel), JoinHoney (Ryan Hudson/George Ruan), and so many others. Watching these companies grow into household names has been nothing short of inspiring.

The lesson I gained from this experience.

One crucial lesson I learned from this is that being productive is key to achieving success. Whether it’s winning deals, securing funding, or attracting top talent, it’s all about staying focused, managing your time effectively, and putting in consistent effort.

Productivity isn’t just about doing more; it’s about doing the right things that move you closer to your goals. And that’s where the idea for FavoriteWeb came from—I wanted to create a platform that would help people streamline their tasks, stay organized, and ultimately be more productive and successful in their own lives.

My goal was to build a tool that empowers individuals to take control of their time and unlock their full potential. And that’s exactly what FavoriteWeb is all about. So thank you for being a part of this journey, and I hope our platform helps you achieve your goals and lead a more fulfilling life. Happy browsing!

Let’s ‘do more’ together.
